T-shirts
can be expensive
and more importantly
they hold a kind
of “sentimental”
feeling unlike
other types of
clothing that
I own. Whether
I have purchased
my t-shirts, or
obtained them
from various road
trips, parties,
or even shirts
I have “magically”
obtained from
unwanted house
guests, it really
gets me angry
when my favorite
t-shirt gets ruined
in a way that
could have been
avoided with some
easy “t-shirt
maintenance”!
How long do your
t-shirts last?
You can make them
last longer if
you care for them
properly and there
are some great
ways to make sure
you’ll have
that favorite
t-shirt for a
very long time.
When you do your
wash, do you throw
your t-shirts
in the dryer?
Even if you only
tumble dry your
t-shirts on a
low heat setting,
dryers strip away
at your clothes
over time, do
you see that lint
in the lint trap?
That used to be
part of your shirt!
I like to call
this “t-shirt
erosion”.
Just like the
wind can slowly
tear down a mountain,
it can eventually
turn your t-shirt
into a battered
undesirable article
of clothing that
will be turned
into a shop rag.
Drying clothes
also causes them
to shrink a little
bit each time
and all of those
clothes that don’t
fit anymore aren’t
necessarily a
result of that
extra second helping
you ate at Thanksgiving.
To make your t-shirts
last longer, hang
them out to air
dry. T-shirts
dry rather quickly
and can be hung
very easily indoors
to achieve this
goal.
The Woolite factor!
Woolite will not
cause colors to
run or fade. It
does not contain
any bleach. Its
mild formula helps
keep clothes looking
like new. I don’t
know about you,
but I don’t
know how many times
I have done a load
of laundry to come
and find that it
looked like someone
had sprayed some
droplets of bleach
on my favorite t-shirt.
These are detergent
stains and they
can ruin your favorite
t-shirt or other
articles of clothing
quicker than you
know what through
a goose (right on
your favorite t-shirt
nonetheless!). Woolite
Fabric Wash is specially
formulated to assure
mildness to cotton,
silk, polyester,
and even new fibers
such as micro-fiber.
It will not cause
discoloration of
these or any other
fibers.
Guys, I know what
you are thinking
“Woolite?”.
When I think of
Woolite, I picture
a sink full of water
with my mom’s
“unmentionables”
in it. Thinking
back, I would rather
go wash my hands
in a mud puddle
than subject them
to my mom’s
personal lingerie
soak and wash. But
now that we are
all grown up, hopefully
we can get past
these traumatizing
memories and use
Woolite for it’s
other purpose, The
preservation of
our favorite t-shirts!
Stop discoloration,
color bleeding,
and shrinking and
stretching with
this wonder product.
They also make a
Woolite for the
gently cycle that
can be used in your
washing machine.
Be sure to wash
your t-shirt (sink
or machine) in cool
water. Hot water
is the enemy to
your favorite t-shirt.
One other thing,
if you keep your
t-shirts hanging
in the closet, take
care when hanging
them on hangars.
This can eventually
stretch out your
collar as if Charlie
Brown had been wearing
your shirt!
